Providence scored 13-straight points from the end of the first quarter into the second quarter to pull away from Crothersville for a 54-39 win Tuesday night in the opening round of the Henryville Tip-Off Tournament.

Abby Jewell’s free throw with two minutes remaining in the opening quarter left the host Tigers trailing 12-8.

The Pioneers scored the final four points of the first quarter and the first nine of the second, and Meredith Endris’ 3-point basket with 5:05 left in the half put her team on top 25-8.

The only points the Tigers scored were free throws by Ashley Isenhower and Alexis Adair. Crothersville shot 0 for 10 from the floor in the period.
