Tigers end season with win

WESTPORT

Crothersville’s volleyball team ended the regular season on Monday night by winning 25-11, 25-11, 25-16 at South Decatur.

Chandler Nehrt led the Tigers in hitting, going 31 of 33 with 21 kills, while Lauren Barnes and Mackenzie Farmer had eight kills apiece. Jessica Schmelzle finished with 34 assists.

“I want to tout Chandler tonight,” Tigers coach Aaron Knieriem said.

“She broke 400 kills for the season tonight, and that’s a big deal because we’ve had 24 matches and six of those were in two sets in tournaments. To hit 400 kills is beyond impressive. I’m really blown away.
