Athletes from all four grades received awards during Crothersville High School’s spring sports awards program Thursday night in the cafetorium.
Freshman Katrina Christian was named the most valuable member of the girls track and field team. She broke a 30-year-old school record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.66, won the 100- and 200-meter dashes in the Southern Athletic Conference meet and qualified for regional in both of those sprint events.
“She’s only a freshman, so I’m really excited about that,” coach Cheryl Nehrt said. “She was a great competitor. She scored 150 points by herself, and that is a big accomplishment.”
