Crothersville’s girls basketball team struggled from the field early in Thursday’s game, and South Decatur ran out to a 32-13 lead at halftime on its way to a 70-30 victory.
“We were 4 of 22 from one foot away in the first half,” Tigers coach Kevin Hensley said. “That tells the whole story of the game right there. We were getting to the hole and getting shots. We just could not put the ball in the hole.”
Abby Jewell led Crothersville with 10 points and eight rebounds. One statistic that favored the Tigers was out-rebounding the Cougars 26-24.
The Tigers fell to 1-5 and on Saturday will play host to South Central for a Southern Athletic Conference game.
