Timber company gets OK for logging operation site

A timber company’s request for a special exception to allow for a logging operation in Vernon Township received approval Tuesday from the Jackson County Board of Zoning Appeals.

The special exception is for an 8- to 10-acre site at 3512 E. U.S. 31, Crothersville, according to an application filed by Tony Trier with Eagle Timber Management.

The board voted 4-0 to approve the request, with board member Ralph Collins abstaining.
