A tip led to the arrest Saturday of a 27-year-old Jennings County man suspected of selling marijuana, police report.
William H. "Billy" Cummins IV, 27, of 306 Beech Road in North Vernon faces felony charges of possession of marijuana and dealing in marijuana, according to a news release from Maj. Jerry Shepherd with Jennings County Sheriff's Department.
Cummins was arrested as part of an investigation conducted by Shepherd and Lt. Brian Talkington after they received a complaint of a person selling marijuana, Shepherd said.
Acting on that tip, officers contacted on-duty Sgt. Dave Turner, who was able to locate a vehicle driven by Cummins.
During a search of the vehicle, Cummins was found to be in possession of $700 in cash and three-quarters of a pound of marijuana.
Cummins was booked into the Jennings County Jail at 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
