One day Jesus had a conversation with a woman who had a past.
She had lots of issues. She had been married five times. She was living with a man who was not her husband. She lived in a small town, so everyone probably knew her business.
One day this woman arrived at a well hoping to get some water. Life had left her thirsty, and her thirst was on a deeper level than mere physical thirst. She had been trying to quench her thirst with all kinds of things, but even though her need was still unmet, she was about to meet the one who can quench the thirst of her soul forever. (See John 4:3-26.)
