Town OKs funds for senior center

The Brownstown Town Council has agreed to help pay the utilities for the senior citizens center, which has been struggling financially because of cutbacks in federal funding.

Terry Jackson with Thrive Alliance talked about those struggles during the council’s meeting Monday at town hall.

Thrive Alliance is a Columbus-based nonprofit that provides social and human services to residents of south-central Indiana, including those in Jackson County. Services include 15 luncheon sites in Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson and Jennings counties.
