Traffic stop ends in drug charges

An expired license plate led to the stop of a pickup truck Tuesday night in eastern Jackson County and the arrest of a 30-year-old man on drug-related charges.

Joseph Keith Evans of the 900 block of West Oak Street in Seymour was arrested on a Class C felony charge of possession of methamphetamine more than 3 grams; a Class D felony charge of possession of stolen property; and a Class A misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia, according to jail records.

Evans was being held Wednesday afternoon without bond pending his initial hearing in Jackson Circuit Court.
