The Tribune won 19 awards Saturday at the Hoosier State Press Association Better Newspaper Contest awards program, including a first place in General Excellence for its circulation division.

The excellence honor is based on points accumulated by the newspaper in individual categories. The Tribune competed in Division 3, for smaller daily newspapers in the state.

The Tribune, part of Columbus-based Home News Enterprises, also finished third in the Blue Ribbon category for all daily newspapers across the state. Judges praised The Tribune staff for the “quality of your paper. Well-done.”
