Trim down Hoosiers before it’s too late

Some big, fat predictions this week from a health advocacy group are beyond frightening.

According to a report by the Trust for America’s Health, more than half of all Hoosiers will be obese by 2030, based on the current rate of the growth of our girth. Across the country, 44 percent of Americans will be considered obese, or 30 or more pounds over a healthy weight.

We’re talking about a forecast of 56 percent of Indiana’s population. Not just overweight. But obese.

This shouldn’t come as a shock, considering how large this society has allowed it to become.
