Intensity and communication increased for Trinity Lutheran’s boys soccer team throughout Wednesday’s sectional match against Henryville.
That allowed the Cougars to take a 4-1 lead at halftime and add a couple of more goals in the second half for a 6-1 victory, putting them in tonight’s championship match against Charlestown or Salem.
“In the first half, I felt that we were not communicating as a team very well. ... Our talking was weak,” Cougars senior Zach Vierling said. “The second half looked a lot better. We communicated more. We got a lot stronger, and it showed in the score.”
Ten minutes into the match, Trinity’s Bobby Tabeling took possession of a loose ball, dribbled toward the top of the box and fired the ball past goalkeeper Lauren Sinn for a 1-0 lead.
