Trinity Lutheran rebounds with win versus Mustangs

Trinity Lutheran bounced back from Friday’s seven-point road loss to Class A No. 9 Christian Academy by handling New Washington 74-53 on Saturday night at home.

The Cougars only led 15-12 through one quarter, but they outscored the Mustangs 17-5 in the second quarter and later took a 58-33 lead into the fourth.

Toby VanLiew led the Cougars (9-6) with 23 points and eight rebounds. He was 11 of 14 from the field, including a 3-pointer.
