Every time Trinity Lutheran High School senior Mariah Nolan steps on the basketball court, she said it’s not only important to have confidence in herself but also in her teammates.

“You have to have extreme confidence in yourself because if you don’t have confidence in yourself, then your teammates won’t have confidence in you because they’re going to say, ‘She doesn’t think she can do it, so she won’t do it,’’’ Nolan said.

“If you think that of yourself, you’ll just keep making mistakes, and you’ll get down on yourself, and you won’t play very well,” she said. “You always have to make sure ‘I can do it’ and have confidence. Coach (Mike Lang) always says he has confidence in everybody, and he knows that we can do it.”
