Trinity junior sets record in 200-meter dash


Trinity Lutheran junior Angi Bergstedt continues to power through the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

In Thursday’s quad meet at Jac-Cen-Del High School, Bergstedt set the school record and won the 200 in 26.51 seconds, and she had a personal-record in winning the 100 in 12.8. Once again, she also anchored the winning 400-meter relay.

The other Trinity girl winning an event was Allison Trimpe in the discus.

The Cougars girls and boys won, each scoring 92 points. The host team was second in the girls meet with 86, while Milan had 20, and Shawe Memorial scored 16. In the boys meet, Milan edged Jac-Cen-Del 41-40 for second place, and Shawe had 26.

For the Trinity boys, Nick Toppe, Nathan Murphy, Tommy Davis and Dylan McKain took the top four spots in the discus, with Toppe, Murphy and Davis setting personal records. Seth Patterson won the 110-meter hurdles, Luke Onken won the 3,200-meter run and Trinity won all three relays.

Cougars beat Pacers at Belterra course


Junior Clayton Terry was medalist with 6-over 42 in leading the Trinity Lutheran boys golf team to a 174-205 win against Switzerland County on Thursday at Belterra Golf Course.

Chad Stuckwisch also shot 42 for the Cougars, while Parker Criswell had 43, and Cory Stuckwisch rounded out the team score with 47.
