Sometimes, you’ve just got to dig deep and show some grit. If you’re lucky, things just might go your way.

After shooting 14 of 21 from the floor in the first half and leading 35-24 at halftime of Saturday morning’s semifinal game of the Big 8 Shootout at Emmerich Manual High School, the Trinity Lutheran girls basketball team went scoreless in the third quarter and extended that drought into the fourth quarter.

Class 2A No. 17 Sheridan only managed eight points in the third quarter, but the Blackhawks built a 48-42 lead late in the fourth quarter.
