While this month’s annual employment report shows little change, it marks a possible turnaround for Jackson County’s unemployment rate, which had been rising since April.
The August Indiana Employment Report shows Jackson County unemployment at 7.0 percent, a 0.1 percentage point drop from July.
The decrease in unemployment is a good sign, but numbers to look at lie in the labor force itself, said Jim Plump, executive director of Jackson County Industrial Development Corp.
