Mary Schaefer and Barry Beeker have one thing in common: Both are from Hope. As artists, that’s where the similarity ends.

Their artwork, currently featured in a joint-exhibit at the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts in Seymour, is vastly different.

Schaefer’s work is watercolor and ink depicting landscapes and rural scenes and often incorporating text. Beeker’s work is bright acrylic canvases with bold contemporary images in primary and secondary colors.
