Two men face criminal charges related to efforts Sunday by police to step up traffic enforcement on what had until recently been private roads.

Bernard E. Everhart, 47, of North Vernon, was arrested by state Trooper Randel Miller on Class D felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana at 9:50 a.m. Sunday. Later in the day, Miller also arrested Richard Gonterman, 46, of North Vernon, on a charge of operating while intoxicated.

Both arrests occurred on Country Manor Boulevard in Country Squire Lakes, according to a news release from Sgt. Noel Houze, public

information officer for the Indiana State Police post at Versailles.
