Jackson County Water Utility has lifted a boil-water advisory for areas of western and southwest Jackson County and in eastern Lawrence County.
The precautionary alert was in effect starting July 16 for the areas of Clearspring, Norman, Sparksville and the rural area around Medora in Jackson County.
Areas around Zelma, Power Line Road and Back Creek Road in eastern Lawrence County also were affected.
The alert was the result of a water line break, the Brownstown-based utility reported.
Testing after the break was repaired found no bacteria present, the utility said Monday.
For information, call the utility at 358-3654.
