Jackson County Water Utility has canceled a boil-water advisory for an area in the south-central part of Jackson County because of an outage that occurred early Tuesday.
Water testing showed no evidence of bacteria, the utility said Friday.
The precautionary alert effected an area south of County Road 275S along County Road 300W. The Starve Hollow Lake area was included in the alert along areas of county roads 450S, 400S and 540S.
The alert resulted because of a water line break Tuesday morning, the Brownstown-based utility reported.
When water service has been restored after outages, customers are warned to boil water vigorously for at least five minutes before using it to prepare food with or to drink until testing can be completed.
