Visitor center without director

The Jackson County Visitor Center is without a director again just one month after hiring someone from the Indianapolis area for the job.

County commissioners voted 3-0 on Tuesday to dismiss Karen Weik of Carmel, who was named the agency’s director in early July.

John Burk-hart, a part-time office worker at the visitor center and former mayor of Seymour, has been appointed interim director.
