Volunteers donate more than 24,000 hours

Columbus Regional Hospital volunteers donated 24,515 hours in 2011.

In addition to their volunteer hours, CRH Volunteer Services also annually presents a gift to the hospital. This year’s $54,000 gift consisted of two baby warmers.

The volunteer group funds its annual donation through hospital gift shop sales and other fundraising efforts. All profits from the gift shop go to Volunteer Services.

The group also donated more than $7,000 in 2011 for a gift given to every patient admitted to the hospital.

“I am extremely grateful to our dedicated volunteers who give their time, talent and expertise to furthering our mission of improving the health and well-being of the people we serve,” hospital chief executive officer Jim Bickel said.
