Natalie Harpe had no problem rolling up her sleeves and putting in some physical labor at Shields Park on Tuesday.
It wasn't a typical day at the office for her or the hundreds of other volunteers who spent the day completing community service projects throughout Jackson County for the18th annual United Way Day of Caring.
Harpe, along with SIHO Insurance employees Jessica Grissom and Lydia Welmer, pulled weeds, planted flowers and spread mulched near an entrance area on the park's southwest corner at Broadway and Sixth streets.
Later in the day, they planned to do the same at Gaiser and Kasting parks.
