Anna Deaton of Crothersville stopped and dug into her purse as she was passing by a Salvation Army bell ringer on her way out of Walmart in Seymour on Monday.

She withdrew a couple of folded dollar bills and slipped them into the red bucket.

It’s an act of charity she performs every year as Christmas draws near.
