Anyone who enjoys the outdoors is invited to help clean and improve Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday in celebration of National Public Lands Day.

There will be work for volunteers of all ages and abilities, and lunch will be provided.

The event will start at 9 a.m. at the refuge Visitor Center.

Work will include trash pickup, invasive species removal, trail maintenance and many other projects.

Participants may spend the day or just a few hours.

National Public Lands Day is a day set aside each year to celebrate the national system of parks, refuges, national forests, grasslands and other recreation areas.

Muscatatuck is one of three national wildlife refuges in Indiana. The others are Big Oaks refuge near Madison and the Patoka River refuge near Oakland City.
