Warriors edge Hornets after close third quarter


Christian Academy held a 27-23 lead over Medora at halftime of Monday’s girls basketball game at New Albany.

Medora then had a 19-17 scoring advantage in the third quarter to pull within two points, but Christian Academy won the final quarter for a 61-57 victory.

Ashley Lambert led Medora with 20 points, while Hannah Elkins scored 14, and Mariah Campbell had 12. Monika Bevers had a team-high 10 rebounds, and Campbell led with six assists and four steals.

Medora dropped to 8-12 and on Monday will travel to play Union (Dugger).
