Water utility seeking rate increase



Indiana American Water wants state permission to increase rates in its Seymour district and others.

For the more than 7,550 customers in Seymour, monthly rates could go up $2.40 per month on average by next year, according to a request filed with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.

The increase is needed to help pay for improvements, the utility said.
