Weather blast leads to crashes, cancellations

Blowing snow and cold temperatures combined for slick driving conditions Thursday across Jackson County.

The most serious of the wrecks left a 22-year-old Scott County man hospitalized with what were described as serious head injuries at a Louisville, Ky., hospital, according to a report from Sgt. Noel Houze, public information officer with the Indiana State Police Post at Versailles.

Austin T. Ahart of Scottsburg was injured when the 1991 Toyota pickup he was driving south on Interstate 65 south of Seymour hit the back of a 2005 Peterbilt wrecker.
