Weather forecast triggers early dismissal



Medora Community Schools will send students home early Tuesday because of anticipated snow and ice.

Students will be dismissed at 1:15 p.m., Superintendent Tom Judd said. That means the Tuesday will count as full day of class.

A mix of snow , ice and rain is in the forecast for Jackson County on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Snow and sleet will likely start falling in the area before 4 p.m. followed by snow and sleet possibly mixed with freezing rain.

New snow and sleet accumulation of less than one inch is possible in the afternoon. Another inch is possible Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
