Weekly rewards

Thumbs-up to area veterans organizations, schools and others who paid honor to the men and women who have served the U.S. military by staging a number of programs on Veterans Day. Our area does a great job of paying tribute to those who have served and to those service men and women now serving in the military. They all deserve our thanks.

Thumbs-up to Aisin USA’s North American headquarters in Seymour for experimenting with the use of solar and wind-powered energy. The company has installed a six-panel solar unit and wind turbine as part of pilot project aimed at reducing its carbon footprint.

Thumbs-up to area residents and motorists who led police to people suspected of dropping eggs from an overpass into passing motorists on Interstate 65 north of Seymour. Throwing items from an overpass at passing vehicles can prove dangerous if not fatal. This is a good example of the public recognizing a problem and aiding police.
