Welcome sign: Display taking shape

The beginning layers of a “Welcome to Seymour” sign and wall under construction are taking form on the far east side of the city.

As part of the Gateway Project, the new sign and art mural will be used to welcome visitors and spruce up the area where motorists leave Interstate 65 at exit 50 at Tipton Street.

Mayor Craig Luedeman said the 13-foot-high structure will replace the old green and gold Seymour sign that’s been up since the 1990s.
