West Washington silences Cougars


Leading 6-0 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, West Washington scored four times on four hits, a walk and hit batsman.

Just like that, the Senators ended Tuesday’s sectional game by the 10-run rule. Eden Tuttle’s teammates ran out to her at first base after she hit a bases-loaded, two-RBI single to cut the game short.

Trinity Lutheran was stunned.

“We had two great practices leading up to this game,” Trinity coach Tom Barker said. “Our girls were hitting the ball about the best I’ve seen them in practice for a long time. We were really executing.
