Mackenzie Wieneke, a 2012 Seymour High School graduate, is one of three Franklin College athletes earning Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors.
The Franklin sophomore volleyball player received the Defensive Player of the Week award for recording 103 digs. The Grizzlies won three of their four matches at the Earlham Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, and Wieneke averaged 6.44 digs per set.
She tallied a season-high 36 digs in the four-set win over University of Michigan-Dearborn, and she had 27 digs in a five-set win over Anderson University.
Through the first eight matches of the season, Wieneke has a team-high 148 digs.
