Jackson County remains under a winter weather advisory through 11 a.m. Tuesday. The area could receive two to three inches of snow. Drifting is expected with winds increasing to 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 30 mph by mid-morning. Snow was expected to end by late morning.
State road crews are plowing state, federal and interstate highways, but the blowing wind is making their work more difficult, said Harry Maginity, a spokesman for the Indiana Department of Transportation.
"Motorists are advised to drive with caution, giving plow truck drivers ample room to maneuver," he added.
