Women are officers first

Men far outnumber women in the law enforcement field, but that doesn’t bother the two female police officers in Jackson County.

Seymour Officer Crystal Schapson and Crothersville Officer Kelley Barger share a bond as the only women in the county paid to carry a gun and badge.

Schapson is one of 40 officers with Seymour Police Department, and Barger is one of three officers on her department.
