In a gymnasium filled with baking soda, mold, miniature parachutes and burned wood, fourth-graders at Emerson Elementary School recently displayed their knowledge of science and the scientific method.
Fourth-grade teacher Scott Heiman said the school’s annual Science Fair, which was staged Feb. 28, really begins much earlier because students work on their projects in their first semester to be prepared for their displays.
“They asked a question and now answered it,” he said.
