Kerry Jane “Kerbear” Heilers, 52, of Scipio, passed away at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at her residence.

Born May 3, 1968, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Donald and Janey (Williams) Hearne. She married Chris Heilers on September 29, 1990 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church; he survives.

Kerry, often called “MiMi,” was a 1987 graduate of Jennings County High School and earned her Associate degree in Childcare Administration with Early Education in 1990 at Vincennes University. She was a Bariatric Buddy in Columbus. Kerry enjoyed talking, writing down inspirational quotes, listening to Kane Brown music, and especially spending time with her family and loving her kids.

Surviving with her husband and parents are children, Drew (Bridget) Heilers of North Vernon, and Molly (Zach) Swain of Batesville; brothers, Todd (Lisa) Hearne and Kirk (Kathy) Hearne, both of North Vernon; granddaughters, Leah Swain of Batesville, and AuLisa Heilers of North Vernon; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Sara Heilers of North Vernon; nieces, Lucy (Ryan) Cowan, Anna Heilers, Ellie Hearne, Claire Heilers, and Natalie Heilers; nephew, Lawson Hearne; and godchildren, Nathan and Hannah Shepherd.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lawson and Winnie Williams and Bill and Evelyn Hearne; uncle, Lawson “Buck” Williams; and cousin, Daniel White.

Private services will be held at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Kerry through the funeral home for the Don Hearne Scholarship.
